Our IT Journey

Our humble beginning in the IT – BPO domain began with a single customer called Webhelp.com. Webhelp provided human assisted search services on top of leading search engine platforms such as Yahoo, MSN, Google and others using live chat. We used special search tools that aggregated search results from these engines and used an internal technology platform to provide these services on behalf of Webhelp to global consumers.

Webhelp introduced additional clients which included some of the world’s leading brands with whom we were able to rapidly increase our headcount. These clients included global leaders such as MSN, Hotmail, Gateway Computers and Norelco.

Services offered to Gateway computers (now a part of Toshiba) included technical support, customer service, billing and refund management. These services were provided using live chat. MSN and AoL were the leading ISPs in the US at that time. Our services included sales using live chat and customer service matters in addition to helping customers solve connectivity and internet speed issues.

Our significant breakthrough came with a contract with Register.com the second largest domain name registration company globally. Services included technical support, customer service, renewals management and sales over multiple channels such as email, live chat and phone. The arrangement was successful such that Register.com renewed with us for nearly a decade. We provided several web development services (called WebsiteNOW), software development, system administration and others on behalf and for Register.com that helped shape our organizations capabilities.

As we grew we set up a joint venture in the US and acquired Lester USA in 2004-2005. This acquisition allowed us to create a global service delivery platform for our BPO clients that combined the best aspects of on-shore and off-shore service delivery.

Over the last decade we have continued to innovate and develop new solutions aimed at solving specific customer problems. Our solutions include business process outsourcing as well consumer internet solutions. Our total IT workforce (including members of our JV Lester) is over 800 people and growing steadily.

Overview of Jaysynth Group

Jaysynth started as Shoorji Trikamdas Color Company that was in the business of marketing imported dyestuffs since 1922.

In 1971, envisioning the growing opportunity and business need to manufacture dyestuffs in India and to support India’s growing textile industry, Jaysynth started a manufacturing unit for Reactive Turquoise Blue at Mulund, Mumbai. Jaysynth expanded into a manufacturing unit for a range of Reactive dyes and Intermediates in 1973 in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai and made the first forays for export of Reactive dyes out of India in 1976. Jaysynth was able to become a preferred supplier to leading textile mills all over the country in a short period of time, while facing competition of much larger companies including MNCs.

The R&D team of Jaysynth to develop several new dye molecules and intermediates for the first time in India ( Bifunctional reactive dyes, Disperse intermediates – azoic and anthraquinone based intermediates) and also popularize them in the industry with innovative technical support.

Jaysynth Group grew rapidly to become one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of Reactive and Disperse dyes in India and started additional plants in Patalganga, Raigad District (1983) and Vapi, Gujarat (1993). The product range covered reactive dyes (vinyl sulphone, bifunctional ME/HE/NE/HEXL) and Disperse dyes (azoic as well as many specialty anthraquinone) and pthalocyanine dyes and pigments by 1995.

In the late 90s the dyestuff industry faced turbulent times on account of dumping of products from China, which resulted in huge losses not only for Indian manufacturers but also other multinationals across the globe. However, not to be shaken by adversity, Jaysynth persevered in the strongest possible headwinds through focus towards innovation.

By the year 2007, Jaysynth became the first Indian manufacturer of inks for digital printing of textiles. Jaysynth’s digital products are able to bring down the costs and substitute imported inks and printing systems – that is enabling the domestic textile industry to make rapid advancements in digital printing.
